MY TRIBUTE TO DANA REEVE
by Angelina Star
I am so honored to do this pictorial memoir of Dana and Christopher Reeve. Two outstanding people who will always be remembered for their many contributions to society.
Christopher and Dana tried to make a difference, they both fought for a cause that they believed in. For the many people out there who feel touched by the Reeve’s mourn today yet another loss of the Reeve family.
I myself personally, admired the love and devotion that Dana herself felt for Christopher Reeve. The countless hours and dedicated moments, that she has shown Christopher and his foundation. She continued to stand strong in Christopher’s beliefs that his organization stood for and still stands for today.
I just hope that their children who are left behind can find peace one day in knowing that their parents were great humanitarians. They pushed issues as far as they could for all people to hear.
Dana came to be viewed as a symbol of courage, along with husband Christopher Reeve, as she stuck by his side during the struggle that wound up killing him.
Now that Dana is gone, we will always remember the outstanding, devoted, loving wife and mother that she had come to be.
She has spoken strongly and freely about how Christopher’s courage was her strength and how it pushed her to continue on even after his death.
Even with her own personal battle with lung cancer, she still believed in not backing down from a fight, a lesson she learned from her late husband.
A quote that she has said, “He taught me so much about courage and going forward,” she said, “and he really lives with me in this.”
So I devote my news column today in Loving Memory of someone that I feel should be never forgotten. Whom I felt touched many of our lives.
Dana is now at peace with her loving friend and husband Christopher Reeve.
For those who believe in their cause and would like to continue supporting it, log onto The Christopher Reeve Foundation.
Sincerely,
