Ace Young
Attention all female fans of American Idol: Brace yourselves for heartache! The show's very single breakout hunk, Ace Young, may already be dating sexy Essence Atkins, star of UPN's sitcom Half & Half. Ace, 25, and Essence, 34, are so close, he even appeared on her show back in October.
Now Idol contestants have told news Web site tmz.com that Ace and Essence have been dating for more than a year.In an interview on the site, Essence says, "We were introduced by a mutual friend.
He's been a great, great friend to me." She says they constantly text-message each other, adding, "I wish him good night or good luck, or tell him, 'I saw the show last night.'" And when asked whether Ace is a good kisser, Essence intriguingly said, "No comment."However, at the Final 12 party that Fox threw in Hollywood on March 9, Ace denied the story to Star. "I read the rumors about me and Essence — which are funny because I'm not going out with her.
We're friends." Clearly the center of attention at the bash, Ace had every girl in the room clamoring to be near him, and he flirted right back with equal gusto. Playing to his female fans, Ace added, "I'm not dating anyone. I'm totally single. I'm available!"

Angelina Piloting Her Plane At 7 1/2 Months: Is She Crazy?
Angelina Jolie
The weather was perfect: clear, sunny, not a cloud on the horizon — just the day for a newly minted pilot to soar into the azure skies over the South of France.
But first, there was the small matter of getting the pilot into the plane! And for Angelina Jolie, seven and a half months pregnant, that turned out to be the most difficult part of her March 11 flight in a two-seater Cirrus SR22-G2 (identical to the one she owns back in California).
Huffing and puffing, Jolie, 30, labored to get her pregnant belly into the cramped cockpit.
Finally, she had to get a boost from an airport worker!
Angelina's 90-minute spin in the mild blue yonder went smoothly, as did other airborne jaunts on March 13 and 14. And she seems completely unconcerned about any risk she might be posing for herself or her baby, whose due date, Star has exclusively learned, is May 18. But not everybody thinks that Angelina's high-flying high-jinks are prudent — or even safe.
In fact, medical doctors are advising Angelina to ground herself — right now!
"A woman with a history of fainting [which Angelina has!] needs to be very careful at a high altitude," says Dr. Duncan J. Turner, an OB/GYN in Santa Barbara, Calif., who has not treated Jolie. "She must always have a copilot with her, ready to take over.
There's also diminished oxygen in a pressurized or nonpressurized cabin on a plane. She could go into premature labor. And blood clots and cramping are more likely to occur in pregnant women who sit in a plane for a long time." Dr. Jon Lischke, a San Diego, Calif., OB/GYN who also has not treated Jolie, points out another hazard.
"In the event of an emergency, she couldn't get out of the plane in a hurry." "I think she's insane," adds another NYC-based OB/GYN. "If she was my patient, I'd say she's taking an unnecessary risk."

"We had about 20 to 30 girls who were contest winners to meet Nick," Q102 DJ Nick Scott tells Star. "They ranged in age from 25 to 45, and he was nice to all of them. He had a smile on his face and lit up the room."
He may still be smarting over his impending divorce from Jessica Simpson, 25, but he's still got a way with the ladies!

Star's Less Than Uplifting Experience?
Al Reynolds and Star Jones Reynolds
Star Jones Reynolds' most recent view has been from a hospital bed.
The cohost of ABC's The View confirmed Tuesday that she is recovering from a breast lift she had in Los Angeles last week.
Her publicist, Brad Zeifman, told E! News that "Star is recovering wonderfully" from the elective surgery.
What Zeifman didn't comment on were two reports that indicated there was more to the story.
In Touch said Jones Reynolds, who turns 44 this Friday, also had a tummy tuck to remove excess skin and both In Touch and the National Enquirer claimed the daytime chat maven was treated for complications following the Mar. 17 procedure.

Aaron Carter Coming of Age in Court
Aaron Carter
At 17, it was "Aaron's Party." At 18, it's Aaron's lawsuit.
A Florida record company is suing Aaron Carter for allegedly reneging on a recording deal on the grounds that he was underage when he signed the contract.
According to the lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Carter entered into a contract with Trans Continental Records on Dec. 7, 2004, the singer's 17th birthday.
A year later, when the kid-friendly crooner turned 18, Carter's attorney sent a letter to the company stating that his client had every right to "cancel or void various agreements" that were signed when he was a minor.
Trans Continental's suit states that a judge was present to approve the 2004 signing expressly to prevent this type of disagreement over the contract's legality.
The record company, saying it has invested time and money aplenty on Carter's career, wants the court to find "the recording agreement to be valid and binding."

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler to Undergo Surgery
Steven Tyler
Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler will undergo surgery this week for an undisclosed medical condition, forcing the band to cancel the remaining dates of its North American tour.
The band's publicist, Marcee Rondan, said Tuesday that Tyler was "doing fine" but declined to elaborate on his condition.
"Despite Aerosmith's desire to keep the tour going as long as possible, Tyler's doctors advised him not to continue performing to give his voice time to recover," Rondan said in a statement.
Tyler, who turns 58 on Sunday, can't perform for an extended period of time, Rondan said, adding the band was on hiatus.
Aerosmith canceled recent concerts in Manchester, N.H., Pensacola, Fla., and Lexington, Ky., because of illness, though the tour press director did not disclose who was sick or the nature of the illness.

Rivers Looks for Love on Match.com
Joan Rivers
Joan Rivers is looking for love in cyberspace. So far, no luck. The 72-year-old red-carpet critic and comedian said she and assistant Matt Stewart created a profile for her on Match.com.
"We were hoping to meet Mr. Right," Rivers told The Associated Press in a recent interview. "We didn't even get a wink."
"Maybe there is somebody sitting out there in the east side of New York," she said.
The profile lists Rivers as looking for a man between the ages of 65 and 75.
Rivers doesn't want to get married again, though. The former talk show host was married to British producer Edgar Rosenberg, who committed suicide in 1987.
As far as children go, Rivers already has one, daughter Melissa, as well as a 5-year-old grandson, Edgar. Her Match.com profile answer under the children section says "probably not."
"Not right now, but I got two eggs in the refrigerator," she quipped. "I should have written, 'not right now unless it is very, very important to you'."
Of course any man in Rivers' life would have to work around her busy schedule. Rivers will be performing her standup act in Tunica, Miss., on Saturday and will be touring Australia in April.

Estefan Donates $1M to Paralysis Project
Gloria Estefan
Gloria Estefan, who was temporarily paralyzed in a tour-bus accident 16 years ago, is donating $1 million for the creation of a human clinical trials program at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.
The gift, announced by the singer and her producer-husband, Emilio Estefan, is targeted to position Miami Project scientists to move quickly toward human trials as promising research is discovered.
The 1990 accident in Pennsylvania broke Estefan's back, but she recovered.
"Tomorrow, which is also my mother's birthday, will be 16 years that I got that operation and my extra spare parts that I carry with me still with pride and love, those titanium rods," Estefan said Tuesday.
Then, she mused: "I don't beep at airports. I always get that question. I'm not magnetic. Space-age metal. And titanium reinforced. Guys in my band called me robo-pop."
Estefan, 48, serves on the board of directors of The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, the national fundraising arm of The Miami Project, a leader in spinal cord injury research.
She was the lead singer of the Miami Sound Machine before a successful solo career. Her hits include "Conga," "Anything for You" and "Coming out of the Dark."
