Ashlee Simpson
Ashlee Simpson certainly sacrifices for fashion. She spent 12 grueling hours getting a makeover by stylist Ken Pavés at a salon in West Hollywood on Feb. 27.
Beverly Hills hairstylist Bianca Vayna tells Star People that it appears Ashlee, 21, got hair extensions (about five hours), lighter colors (two hours) and a trim (one hour). As for the other hours: "Maybe she was just having a good time!"

No Failure in This "Launch"
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConauhey
Title notwithstanding, Failure to Launch had no trouble getting off the pad.
The romantic comedy teaming of Sex and the City gal Sarah Jessica Parker and Sexiest Man Alive Matthew McConaughey generated an estimated $24.6 million to nail the top slot at the box office in a big weekend for new films.
Disney's Tim Allen-led retread of The Shaggy Dog bounded into second place with $16 million, while another remake, The Hills Have Eyes, scared up $15.5 million in third place, a record sum for a Fox Searchlight release.
A PG-13 Paramount release, Failure to Launch costars Kathy Bates and ex-NFLer Terry Bradshaw as exasperated parents who hire a woman (Parker) to get their philandering son (McConaughey) out of their house, with predictable results.
Overcoming weak reviews the film averaged an above-expectations $8,047 at 3,057 sites.

Jacksons Attend Funeral of Slain Drummer
Jackson 5
Several Jackson 5 members attended the funeral of their former drummer, who was stabbed to death earlier this month.
Tito, Marlon, Jermaine, Jackie and Randy Jackson went to the Saturday service for 55-year-old Johnny Jackson Jr., who wasn't related to the family. Pop stars Michael and Janet Jackson did not appear.
Johnny Jackson replaced the group's original drummer around 1967. He played with the band for 15 years and lived with them after their move from Gary to Los Angeles in 1969.
Randy, the youngest of the Jackson 5 brothers, said he learned how to play drums from Johnny.
"He had a lively way of living and enjoyed every moment," he said. "He made touring fun. There was never a dull moment, with jokes and a lot of laughs."
Yolanda Davis, 44, has been charged with murder in his March 1 death. Davis allegedly told police she stabbed him with a steak knife when he lunged at her during a fight.
If convicted, she could be sentenced to 45 years to 65 years in prison.

Sean Connery Has Surgery for Kidney Tumor
Sean Connery
Sean Connery has undergone surgery for a kidney tumor and is recovering at his home in the Bahamas, his spokesman said Sunday.
The 75-year-old Scottish actor underwent the operation a few weeks ago in New York, spokesman James Barron said.
"He's very fit he's 100 percent plus," Barron said of the former James Bond actor, who won a 1988 Academy Award as supporting actor for "The Untouchables." In 2000, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.
Connery told The Sunday Times that he "was opened in five places."
His brother, Neil, told the newspaper that "as far as I'm led to believe, the tumor was benign. He seems to be quite upbeat about it."
