MARIAH CAREY was paid $1million to sing at a New Year’s Eve party held by Colonel Gaddafi’s son, it was reported yesterday.

The Libyan dictator’s lad Saif, 36, is said to have splashed out the £687,000 for a set of just four songs at the Nikki Beach Club on Caribbean island St Barts.

Onlookers said Mariah, 38, played down pregnancy rumours by knocking back champagne and tucking into oysters with her husband NICK CANNON.

Hip-hop stars TIMBALAND and JAY-Z also performed.

One guest said: “They all had a great time.”

The singer has cancelled dates for her 2009 tour unexpectedly.

Insiders think it's because she’ll be too heavily pregnant to perform.

Mariah is also said to have been seen clutching baby scan pictures.

‘I have not been told she’s pregnant,’ her spokesman tells The Sun.

Mariah Carey's great-aunt gift

Mariah Carey has bought her great-aunt a house.

The 'Touch My Body' singer decided to purchase the San Miguel, Venezuela, property after her relative fell behind on her rental payments.

The 67-year-old woman owed $1,500 in unpaid rent and so asked Mariah for help.

When the 38-year-old singer heard of her aunt's plight, she immediately paid off the debt and also bought her the two-bedroom house.

It has previously been claimed Mariah - who wed Nick Cannon in an intimate ceremony earlier this year after a whirlwind romance - is very careful with her money.

The singer reportedly called off her second wedding to Nick after the pair struggled to get it funded by a magazine deal.

She was keen to host a lavish service for friends and family who missed her original Bahamas ceremony, but when it became apparent no publications were interested in paying for the bash she decided to ditch her plans.

A source said at the time: "The small wedding in the Bahamas was nice, but it was not Mariah's style. However, she wasn't too keen to pay for a more lavish celebration herself."

Mariah insists her Diva days are over with and credits hubby for calming her down!

MARIAH CAREY has insisted her days of behaving like a diva are over – and credits hubby NICK CANNON with calming her down.

The couple - who tied the knot in April - worked together on Mariah’s video for her new single I Stay In Love, with Nick on directing duties.

And the sexy singer was amazed the shoot passed without incident and finished on schedule, thanks to Nick’s efficient approach.

In an interview with This Morning, Mariah said: “It’s the only video in the history of me making videos that I ended on time, actually early both days, and there was no drama, and everybody was saying what is this new thing?!

“So I guess this was definitely him. No more stories about divaness, divaland, divalicious.

“I enjoyed working with him, but I know it’s the first time so who knows.”

Mariah also divulged details of how the couple got together, revealing the spark between them was instantaneous.

She gushed: “We met each other in 2005 on a couple of award shows and we had that thing - you look at them and talk to them, and you are like what was that, that was interesting, but I liked it!”

And the star also said the pitter patter of tiny feet could soon be echoing around the couple’s vast LA abode.

When asked if babies are on the cards, Mariah coyly replied: “Maybe sometime soon. We will see.”

Mariah Carey waited 2 months before being intimate with Nick Cannon

Mariah Carey has revealed that she and husband Nick Cannon decided to wait for 2 months before consummating their relationship.

They started dating in February this year, but it was only after their secret wedding in the Bahamas in April that they had sex.

‘It’s not that we had no intimacy, we just didn’t have complete intimacy,’ she says. ‘It’s just me and my feelings.

‘We both have similar beliefs and I thought that it would be so much more special if we waited until after we were married. And it was, and it still is.’

Mariah, 38 – who met Nick, 28, on the set of her video Bye Bye – says part of her concern was that she nervous of getting involved after being hurt by first husband Tommy Mottola, 59.

‘I was hesitant for a long time to get into a relationship and lose control of my heart and myself as a human being,’ she tells the Daily Mirror.

‘But this was something bigger than both of us. There was no question of not being ready when I met Nick. It felt 100% right.

‘We really do feel we are soul mates. It all just clicked. It was pretty amazing.’

Mariah Carey has silenced critics who claimed her relationship wouldn't last, insisting that married life with Nick Cannon is great.

The 39-year-old singer wed toyboy Nick, 28, in April following a 6-week romance. But despite rumours that they’re on the rocks, they recently celebrated their 6-month anniversary.

And Mariah is confident their marriage will last.

‘People were confused at first because it was so fast. But it’s perfectly normal to us. It just feels like this is how it was always supposed to be.

‘Married life’s great. Nick’s great. He’s very smart and loving. We have fun. We have a great time together. We’re best friends.’

Mariah Carey will travel to the World Music Awards on a £10,000 private flight.

The singer is appearing on UK TV talent show 'The X Factor' on Saturday night (08.11.08) so organisers have chartered the special plane to get her to the 20th annual ceremony in Monaco which takes place on Sunday (09.11.08).

Mariah will be joined by husband Nick Cannon on the journey which will see them lavishly treated.

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "It'll be like a second honeymoon on board the jet for them. There'll be no expense spared for Mariah - lilies, mini-burgers, sparkling water and bundles of her favourite Hello Kitty toys as a present.

Mariah Carey moving on from her Manager

MARIAH Carey is moving on from her manager, Benny Medina. Sources told Page Six that Carey had been unhappy with Medina - especially since she heard rumors that he was courting his former client, and her nemesis, Jennifer Lopez, again - and booted him on Friday. But Medina said, "I just had lunch with Mariah today. We're restructuring her company and streamlining it. That's all." If he ends up streamlining himself out of a job, Carey would be his third major loss this year - Tyra Banks and Usher both recently left him.

Mariah Carey: Determined not to get pregnant for fear of extra weight!

Mariah Carey is determined not to get pregnant because she doesn't want to put on weight.

The 'Touch My Body' singer - who has recently been showing off her slim line figure in a variety of skimpy outfits - is reportedly in no rush to start a family with new husband Nick Cannon because she is so concerned about gaining excess pounds again.

A source told the National Enquirer magazine: "Mariah gets teased all the time about when she is going to have a baby - but she just looks at you like you said a dirty word and tells you that with her new figure, and how hard she always needs to work to keep the weight off, one pregnancy and it would be over!

"Mariah has got a great life - she is not looking for anyone, or anything, to change that. She would play a concert a month to support the world's starving children but a child of her own has never been her dream."

Mariah Carey’s marriage won’t last more than six months, according to friends.

The 38-year-old singer, who wed rapper Nick Cannon in April, is so demanding her new husband won’t be able to cope with her diva-like behaviour.

One pal close to Mariah revealed 27-year-old Nick has become a source of ridicule for her friends and associates.

The source told Life and Style Weekly magazine: “I give the marriage six months, tops. I can’t see it lasting.
“Nick does whatever Mariah wants him to - he’s like her puppy. It seems like he spends more time in the stores with Mariah’s credit card than he does with Mariah herself.


“Mariah’s assistants and friends call him ‘Whipped Nick’ behind his back. They have little respect for him because he won’t stand up for himself.” However, a friend of Nick’s has vehemently denied the relationship is
already in trouble, insisting Nick and Mariah are perfect for each other.

The pal said: “Mariah needs someone to dote on her.”

The pair wed at Carey's home in the Bahamas in April (08) and they're only just getting round to thinking about presents which fans and friends can buy them after the whirlwind wedding.

The 40-item wish list includes a 19th-century Moser vase, a Buccellati sterling silver picture frame and 24 Christofle Aria place settings, which sell for more than $2,100 (GBP1,050) each.

In the month since Nick Cannon’s became Mr. Mariah Carey, he’s racked up some high-priced purchases. But who’s really paying for them? According to the National Enquirer, all the designer duds and other treats come courtesy of his new wife’s bank account.

“Nick’s having a field day with Mariah’s moolah!” a friend of the diva told the Enquirer. “His head is spinning with the possibilities her black Amex card affords. For now, Mariah is being indulgent with his spending spree, but at the same time, it’s sent up a red flag.”

Shortly after the wedding, the actor-rapper was even seen test-driving a $120,000 Maserati Quattroporte. “He already has at least six luxury cars, including a Rolls-Royce Phantom and a Cadillac Escalade,” the insider said. “So why would he need another set of wheels? He’s taking advantage of Mariah’s generosity.”

Another Mariah pal points to Nick’s wedding bling, a heavily bejeweled band, as the sort of thing he expects Mariah to provide. “It’s garish and tacky — and yet another example of Nick’s extravagance at Mariah’s expense," the source told the magazine. “It’s as if Nick is trying to spend as much as he can as fast as he can — because deep down he knows the gravy train could stop at any time.”

Mariah Carey wed actor/rapper Nick Cannon at her home in the Bahamas, according to the latest reports swirling around the couple's shock marriage.

Carey and Cannon staged a spontaneous marriage ceremony earlier this week (beg28Apr08) after dating for just a month.

New York gossip columnist Paula Froelich, who broke the wedding story, claims Carey refused to sign a pre-nuptial agreement before marrying for a second time.

She adds that so few people were at the ceremony that "you could probably count them on two hands.".

Almost 24 hours after the news broke, both Carey and Cannon's representatives are still refusing to comments about the wedding rumours.
