Beyonce Knowles turned down a lucrative deal to sell her wedding photos.

The singer tied the knot with Jay-Z, 39, in New York in April 2008.

But the couple wanted to keep the ceremony as private as possible.

‘I didn’t want a dramatic wedding,’ she says. ‘People can sometimes put too much emphasis on the big day, but it’s so temporary, it’s gone in a second.

‘They offered us crazy money, but we weren’t interested. Outside it was paparazzi madness, but inside it was beautiful.’

Beyonce, 27, is enjoying being a newlywed.

‘I knew I wouldn’t get married before the age of 25,’ she tells Fabulous.

‘You have to know yourself, know what you want, spend time by yourself and be proud of who you are before you can share with someone else.

‘I was 18 when we met, so there was no rush. But the wait was worth it. It feels great being married. I had my own life before I became someone’s wife.’

Alexandra, 19, became the favourite to win the show last week after she performed a powerful rendition of Beyoncé’s hit Listen.

The singer stars as troubled Etta James in biopic Cadillac Records.

As well as meeting the soul diva, now 70, she visited Phoenix House rehab centre in New York to research the part.

‘I said, “I have to do this movie” – but I was terrified,’ she explains. ‘I never tried drugs in my life so I didn’t know about it all.

'It was hard to go to the rehab. I learned a lot about life and myself.’

Beyonce, 27, was apparently reduced to tears by the plight of six African-American addicts she met.

‘It was very intense,’ rehab chief exec Howard Meitiner tells the Mail On Sunday. ‘Everyone was crying.

'These were women who have lost everything because of drugs – their homes, their families, their jobs.’

Cadillac Records is released in the UK in the spring.

Beyoncé Knowles admits she isn’t ready to become a mum just yet.

The singer married rapper Jay-Z in a secret ceremony seven months ago.

But she says they have no plans to have children.

‘I’ve seen the reality of having a kid and I know that I’m not quite ready for it,’ she tells Hello!

‘I know I want kids but I’ve never been a girl who sees a baby and goes, “Ooh, I want one!”

'But when I do eventually have a child, I can only pray that he is amazing as [my nephew] Jules.

'He’s just the best. He’s also a lot of work!’

Beyoncé Knowles has revealed she would love to play Wonder Woman on the big screen.

The singer wants to don the red, white and blue bathing suit in a film version of the classic comic book.

‘It would be great and it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a very powerful thing.’

The 'Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)' singer - who wed Jay-Z earlier this year - admits it is taking time for her to get used to her new relationship status.

With her hair smoothed back and wearing an scarlet evening gown, Beyonce made an elegant guest of honour at the charity bash, which rewarded her hard work helping others.

It may have been the Diamond Ball yet songstress Beyonce Knowles chose to leave her own 18-carat wedding ring rock behind as she was recognised for her charity work.

Just two days earlier, the sparkler - said to be worth £2.5 million - was on display while she boogied at the Bermuda Music Festival. On Saturday, though, the singer obviously wanted to focus the attention on the fundraising night and not her recently acquired ring.

Beautiful Beyonce was guest of honour at a glitzy Florida gala to raise money for the Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation. In recognition of all her hard work for others, the kind-hearted chanteuse was being inducted into the centre's Hall Of Fame.

And while she may have been the focus of the ball, where tables cost up to £5,500, Beyonce was more than happy to share the stage with another prodigious talent. The 'Crazy In Love' singer - who married rapper Jay-Z in a secret ceremony last month - has reportedly been indulging in all her favourite calorific goodies since discovering she is expecting her first child.

A pal told the New York Post newspaper: "She has gained a lot of pregnancy weight. When she gains weight, she normally does the Def Jam detox, but not now."
