Warden and Redford in 1975's "All the President's Men"
Oscar-nominated character actor Jack Warden, best known for starring alongside Warren Beatty in Shampoo and Heaven Can Wait, has died at 85, his longtime business manager said.
Warden, who appeared in dozens of films including All the President's Men with Robert Redford and won an Emmy award as the star of the 1980s TV series Crazy Like a Fox, died on Wednesday in New York, business manager Sidney Pazoff said.
Warden, who was born John Lebzelter in New Jersey and began acting after serving in World War Two, had a breakthrough role in Twelve Angry Men in 1957. Pazoff said the veteran character actor had retired several years ago and had been suffering from medical problems in recent years.

Colin Farrell's "Tonight Show" Surprise
Colin Farrell
For a minute there, it looked like the Tonight Show was turning into an episode of This Is Your Life. Or COPS.
During the taping of Jay Leno's show Thursday, Colin Farrell's segment was disrupted when an audience member jumped up on stage and approached the star.
Local media identified the woman as Dessarae Bradford, a former sex-line operator who unsuccessfully sued Farrell for $5,000 last April, claiming the Miami Vice star was stalking her via phone calls and text messages.
Apparently, she decided to turn the tables.
Bradford entered the NBC studios as part of the Tonight Show audience and walked on stage in the middle of Farrell's interview. Audience members seemed to think the intrusion was part of a skit, until Bradford approached and started speaking to Farrell.
"She said something to Colin Farrell that no one heard, then he took her by the elbow, led her off stage, asked the cameramen to turn off their cameras and asked for security," Molly Mattaini, an audience member, told the Associated Press.
The 30-year-old actor reportedly led Bradford straight to NBC's awaiting security guards, but not before, according to Access Hollywood, she left a copy of Colin Farrell: A Dark Twisted Puppy, a self-published book detailing her alleged encounters with the Irish actor, on Leno's desk.
Upon being escorted off stage, Bradford shouted to Farrell, "I'll see you in court."
Farrell's retort: "You're insane."
And to think, it's normally just Leno's monologue that makes the audience this uncomfortable.
Bradford was quickly detained by a Burbank police officer, though per NBC's request, was not arrested. She was, however, warned by security that if she returned to the NBC studios, she would be arrested for trespassing.
Following the incident, it was show business as usual for Leno and Farrell, who reportedly apologized to the audience for the disruption.
"He sat back down and said, 'My first stalker,' and Jay Leno said, 'Welcome to celebrity,' " Mattaini told the AP.
None of the altercation aired on Thursday night's Tonight Show; cameras were shut off for the majority of the unexpected guest's appearance, and Bradford's approach to the stage was edited out completely.
Just a few hours later, Farrell showed up at the Hollywood premiere of Miami Vice.
When asked by Access Hollywood's Billy Bush about the incident, Farrell said, "I don't know. I don't know."
Last December, Bradford sued Farrell, claiming he stalked her, confiding his thoughts on fellow A-listers and leaving Bradford feeling "degraded" and suffering from "mental anguish."
A Santa Monica judge tossed out the lawsuit after Farrell's lawyer argued that the actor had never even met Bradford, who has made similar claims against Alec Baldwin.

PASADENA, Calif. - John Stamos will become a regular on "ER" this fall, when Sally Field, Andre Braugher and John Mahoney will make guest appearances during the NBC medical drama's 13th season.
Stamos resumes his previous guest role from last season as Tony Gates, a savvy paramedic and medical student, network officials announced at the Television Critics Association's summer meeting this week.
Paula Malcomson ("Deadwood") will appear in a multi-episode arc as the widow of Gates' dead best friend and war buddy who is a single mother.
Stamos' previous series, "Jake in Progress," was left off ABC's fall schedule.

Braugher ("Homicide: Life on the Street") will appear in a six-episode arc as a carpenter who arrives in the emergency room with a simple cough. But he suffers a stroke while waiting to be seen, and his life eventually falls apart as a result of his paralysis.
Mahoney ("Frasier") will portray a drag queen who wants to assume legal authority for his dying partner's medical care.
"ER" will premiere Sept. 21 with 12 continuous new episodes until its cliffhanger in December. The show will then resume after "The Black Donnellys" completes its first season.

To Sink or Swim: Designers Rise at Swim Week Miami

Fashion Wire Daily - Miami - The Sunglass Hut Swim Shows Miami 2007 collections in Miami, Florida ended their second season on Tuesday, July 18.
“We’re still fine tuning,” said Fern Mallis, IMG’s Vice President, of the week’s production. “And I think it’s just going to get better and better each season.”
As the week progressed lines got shorter, and name-dropping and name-calling at the guest list check-in seemed to quiet down. By the week’s end, the crowd had seen enough embroidered bandeau tops and bikinis with hip hardware to last a lifetime of banal bathing suits. Saving the best for last, Tuesday’s closing collections sailed through the swim shows leaving rounds of standing ovations and ardent applause in their wake.
“I love everything!” actress Tara Reid told designer Shay Todd backstage after Todd's show at the Raleigh Hotel’s Cabana Grande Tuesday evening. Todd’s collection, the final show of the week, was a laudable departure from her normal routine.
“I normally don’t work with prints,” said Todd. “The seashell print evoked these feelings of Nantucket and antiques, which I spun into a nautical theme with the anchor prints and the red, white and blue...Of course I had to throw in a little glam with the zebra prints!” Todd produced the best cover-ups of the week, which were sexy but functional and done in terry cloth and mesh for a dry fit.
Ronen also played with prints, showing itty-bitty, low-slung beach shorts with paisleys and board shorts festooned with bold palm trees. Malas, Buddhist prayer beads draped around models’ necks, offered a little something different to raise the collection above average.
Far above average was wild card Gideon Oberson, whose collection was hard to pull off, but deserves commendation for its atypical additions like the flowing “geisha” trains of fabric tied to the wrist and the crocheted green one-piece suits that resembled seaweed.
Finally, designer Norma Kamali, who unfortunately missed her own show due to a cancelled flight, paid tribute to her clothing’s signature styles with a collection that Mallis described as “classic Norma.”
Mod sleeve-like wraps clung to models’ bare feet as they walked in super sleek one-pieces that could have passed for leather by its look and fit. Kamali’s 50’s style metallic gold suits paralleled her Gold Foil clothing collection, racer-back swimsuits paid homage to sportswear, and shirred white halters emulated Kamali’s elegant poly jersey dresses.
By embracing their ability to think outside the box - or in this case, outside of the pool - Todd, Oberson, Kamali, and Parke & Ronen proved their ability to sink the competition, keeping inventiveness and individuality afloat.

PASADENA, Calif. - Calista Flockhart says it's time to get back to work. The former "Ally McBeal" star, who has spent the last five years at home with boyfriend Harrison Ford' name and her 5-year-old adopted son, returns to TV this fall as a right-wing radio host turned pundit in the new drama "Brothers & Sisters." The show, which co-stars Sally Field and
Rachel Griffiths, debuts Sept. 24 on ABC.
"I really want to go back to work. It just seemed like the perfect time and the perfect project," Flockhart told the Television Critics Association's summer meeting this week.
She said she was especially happy to find a show with an ensemble cast of top actors.
"I wasn't going to be responsible for carrying the show and I would have a better schedule," she said.
Field also has kept a lower profile in recent years.
"It's a very interesting time in television," she said. "Television obviously is having to compete with a lot of other things and it's having to change and grow and try new things."
Griffiths has taken time off for motherhood.
"I was thinking of not doing television for a while for many reasons, mainly the kind of schedule and being away from my homeland," the Australian actress said. "Calista was a big draw for me. She's an icon. I watched that show (`Ally McBeal') and it carried me through my lonely 20s, and so it just felt right."

ATLANTA - Janet Jackson says finding love with longtime boyfriend and producer Jermaine Dupri gave her a new perspective on life while recording her new album.
I always wanted to find love," she said. "Now, that I found love, I'm in a different space now.
"Jermaine is drama-free," the 40-year-old singer said at news conference Friday to promote the upcoming album, "20 Years Old." "He's a very giving person. The challenges have been all joy working with Jermaine."
Dupri produced a few tracks on the album, which is set for release on Sept. 26. Longtime collaborators Jimmy "Jam" Harris and Terry Lewis pitched in as well.
When asked about having a family, Jackson said: "I would love to have kids. I never thought I would ever want any. But being with Jermaine really changed my mind on all that. I don't mind adopting."
Jackson lost 60 pounds after passing on a role in the upcoming movie "Tennessee" to finish the album. The pop star won't be slowing down anytime soon, saying she currently is weighing five movie scripts.
"I know sometimes I want a little escape and have a good time," said Jackson, who calls herself at Atlanta resident. "I hope there are people out there I can make feel good through my music."
Asked if she used the same type of sexual material this time as on past albums, she said: "I enjoy talking about it. It shouldn't be any different from before."
